Push Yourself

I am feeling so excited to share that today I completed a self-created 31 day yoga challenge!

I love that January brings an opportunity to set fresh intentions for the year ahead. As a devote yogi I committed each day of this month to my practice. I was not entirely certain of how I would make it through these infrared heated power-core intensity classes, but knew that I would. I am so proud that I held myself accountable for reaching this goal.

I'm going to take some days off, celebrate a little and focus on what my next challenge will be.

How are you pushing yourself in life?

Your Time

I haven't created a post in a couple of days and today, coincidentally, I'm here writing about creating time.

No matter how busy each day gets I always take the time for mindful mediatation. It is usually in the mornings, before bed or anytime I hit the yoga mat.

I like to spend the first 10 to 15 minutes of my day in silence, reinforcing the love and grattiude that I would like to carry with me throughout the day. For me, the silent reinforcement of these principles is the best way to start the morning.

This quote from my girl Gabby made me laugh out loud. Enjoy :)

A strong woman

I loved this saying when I came across it because I believe it is important to do all of these things (including a couple more) to be a strong woman.

Never give up, never be defeated, do not feed your fears, forgive yourself (and others). Your life is a series of happenings shaping exactly who you are meant to be, flow with life as a strong woman.

It's always right now

I saw a great movie yesterday about life, Boyhood. Without providing any spoilers one of my favourite moments from the movie was a statement about how "moments are constant, it is always right now".

I always appreciate a reminder to live in the present moment, to give presence and make the most of each day, you never really know when it will be your last.

Stick with love

Today marks a national holiday for a man with a vision, with a dream. A man who's vision transformed an entire nation. Martin Luther King made a decision, he choose to see love about all.

We all hold the power within us to make a difference in the world.

Today welcome the voice of love to come forward and lead you to a happier state of mind so that you can bring more light into the world.

Working Miracles

Today I am entering into week six of Gabrielle Bernstein's May Cause Miracles, its a bittersweet feeling as it has caused so many shifts in my life, but at the same time I don't want it to be over (really though, I think that it is just beginning) :-) !!!

Week six is all about being a miracle worker. Believing that only love is real. The five weeks leading up to this have been a journey of guidance back to this powerful belief system. Only love is real.

Here are some highlights in Gabby's words in preparation for entering into week six.

"Being a miracle worker isn't just about letting go of negative beliefs and becoming happy: there is much, much more. Being a miracle worker is a practice of personal growth that leads to worldly transformation.

The spiritual connection that you have ignited is the greatest power that you have to offer. Miracle workers are people who choose to turn their pain into their purpose of spreading love and transformation.  Each time a person chooses love over fear, that person becomes a bridge for the others who choose to follow in that path.

Do not judge your past; rather, honor the path you've taken and accept that it's been your learning device to get to where you are (shout out to KD, a big loving shout out to you!)."

I had an amazing moment of synchronicity, or as Oprah would call it, an "Ah Ha Moment", in reading Gabby's words. I personally, am working on healing my mind so that I can have a greater effect on the world. Having a greater effect on the world is a very big part of what I aim to achieve in my time on this beautiful earth.

How do you want to spread love and transformation in the world?

What is your real intention?

I believe that most of us have heard the saying, what we think we become?

Here is an expert from Gary Zukav's book The Seat of the Soul that talks about your intentions. Have a read....

"Every action, thought, and feeling is motivated by an intention, and that intention is a cause that exists as one with an effect. If we participate in the cause, it is not possible for us not to participate in the effect. In this most profound way, we are held responsible for our every action, thought, and feeling. Which is to say, that for our every intention it is, therefore, wise for us to become aware of the many intentions that inform our experience, to sort out which intentions produce which effects, and to choose our intentions according to the effects that we desire to produce"

What is it that you desire to produce?

How have your intentions produced the journey of your life? If you were to change your intentions, what are the different outcomes that your story would create?

Ask yourself, with each decision that you make, what is your real intention?

I leave you with an image that ignites the passion of my every being. My intention is to be pure, true and sweet love in all of its forms - I work towards it daily.

I Surrender

With an overactive mind and imagination, and a mild case of restlessness I often need to remind myself that I need to surrender to the power greater than myself and trust that the universe has got this.

What is it that you're working on improving, or surrendering?

Here is a quote from Tanya Geisler that serves as a good reminder for me.

She Let Go

I hope that you had a rejuvenating weekend and are entering another week with a heart full of gratitude.

I had to share this post that I came across in a goddess group, enjoy and feel free to share.  I'm certain that we could all benefit from letting go....

She let go.
She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go.
She let go of the fear.
She let go of the judgments.
She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head.
She let go of the committee of indecision within her.
She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons.
Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.
She didn’t ask anyone for advice.
She didn’t read a book on how to let go.
She didn’t search the scriptures.
She just let go.
She let go of all of the memories that held her back.
She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward.
She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right.
She didn’t promise to let go.
She didn’t journal about it.
She didn’t write the projected date in her Day-Timer.
She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper.
She didn’t check the weather report or read her daily horoscope.
She just let go.
She didn’t analyze whether she should let go.
She didn’t call her friends to discuss the matter.
She didn’t do a five-step Spiritual Mind Treatment.
She didn’t call the prayer line.
She didn’t utter one word.
She just let go.
No one was around when it happened.
There was no applause or congratulations.
No one thanked her or praised her.
No one noticed a thing.
Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.
There was no effort.
There was no struggle.
It wasn’t good and it wasn’t bad.
It was what it was, and it is just that.
In the space of letting go, she let it all be.
A small smile came over her face.
A light breeze blew through her. And the sun and the moon shone forevermore…

F Everyone!

Today I'm on day 26 of Gabrielle Bernstein's May Cause Miracles. Titled, F Everyone! This has been  my favourite day to date.

I believe so deeply in the power of forgiveness and how it can transform your life. I have forgiven some pretty influential people in my life, one person in particular, which has created a clean slate for all new relationships that form in my life.

I can confidently say that the power to forgive has truly transformed who I am as a person.

Today I leave you with Gabby's wisdom:

"Forgiveness reminds me that we are one. Each time I have a false attack thought toward someone, I will choose to forgive the thought and remember that we are one. In turn, I forgive myself.

I could see peace instead of this"

If we are to truly enjoy our relationships, we must respect them through the miraculous act of forgiveness.

Take Me To Church

Have you heard this lovely song?

I am feeling Hozier so hard right now, it is a leg kicking, hip thrusting, full blast track.

The song is about humanity in its most natural form, the sexual act. Hozier was inspired to write the song after witnessing organizations and people rejecting a natural part of humanity.

Good on you Andrew Hozier-Byrne.

Wouldn't the world be such a beautiful place if we all loved and accepted each other for who we are.

I'm doing my part, I hope that you are too.

Love Yourself

There are many times in our lives where we (hopefully) learn to forgive and release. Whether it be a situation, a fear, or a person. Many people will come and go in our lives, through this there remains one constant. You.

How much do you value the relationship with yourself? We are each responsible for our own life. Regardless of who comes and who goes. If you are holding anyone else accountable for your happiness, you are wasting your time.

Please, please, please....love yourself, darling.

What You Think You Become

Let's face it, in our daily lives we all encounter those individuals who choose to see the glass as half empty, the naysayers, energy vamps, whatever you'd like to call it. People who chose to spend their time feeding their dark energy.

Really though, time is wayyyy too valuable to be focused on all the things that don't go the way you want them to. If you don't believe me ask anyone who has every lost a great love or had a near death experience.

I have always choosen to see the glass as full, an eternal optimist. The key here though, is my choice, I choose to see the beauty in each day.

Which energy do you choose to feed?

Who Are You Not To Be?

I am on day 22 today of one of the most powerful books I've ever read, May Cause Miracles by Gabrielle Bernstein.

This book, as well as well another of Gaby's, Spirit Junkie are based on learning's from Marianne Williamson's A Course in Miracles. If you have never read either one of Gaby's books and are open to creating miracles within your own life, scoop them up and become a student.

As we prepare to enter a new week, release any thoughts that no longer serve you. Cement your vision for the week with loving thoughts and allow your light to smother any fears.

Here is one of my favourite quotes from Marianne Williamson.

Thinking Out Loud

There is something so juicy to me about Saturdays. Reading in bed for hours, taking an extra long savasana, watching kids play sports, strolling your neighbourhood to take in sights previously unnoticed or dancing and singing around the house to your hearts content.

We spent a lot of time as kids choreographing and rehearsing dance routines like we were Ed McMahon's next Star Search winning girl group.

Today, I spent a good hour in what felt like a personal serenade by none other than Ed Sheeran himself. Here is a track from his album X that I am currently loving.

What are you doing in your daily life to embrace your inner child? Those activities you did that made hours pass like minutes? Build a fort. Place a playing card in the spokes of your bike wheel. Lay out the slip n' slide. Pretend that your sleeping so that you can be carried to bed (maybe that was just me).

Life can sometimes be too serious, make sure that you spend some time each day indulging in your passions.

What is your bigger picture?

One of my favourite things about the new year is the opportunity to start with a fresh slate.
I have a number of dreams and goals in mind for 2015 and have dedicated some quality time in the last couple of days to mapping out my vision of how I will achieve those dreams.

It started today with 31 days of hot yoga, at my favourite studio, Oxygen.

What dreams have you set for 2015?

Here is a some inspiration from a book I read recently titled "What I Know For Sure" by Oprah Winfrey.

"You are the only person alive who can see your bigger picture  - and even you can't see it all. The truth is that as much as you plan, and dream, and move forward in your life, you must remember you are acting in conjunction with the flow and energy of the universe.

Move in the direction of your goal with all the force and verve you can muster - and then let go, releasing your plan to the Power's that's bigger than yourself and allow your dream to unfold as its own masterpiece.

Dream big - very big. Work hard - very hard. And after all you've done all you can, fully surrender to the Power?"

And do not forget, with every ounce of your being, believe that you will achieve your dreams. After all, the belief in yourself is the single most important step in making your dreams a reality.

A fresh start

How lucky are we? The start of another new year is upon us. I hope that you approach the start of this year with great promise, a clean slate and a heart full of love.

For me 2014 was a year of immense spiritual growth, realizing my potential and recognizing some of the gifts that I want to share with the universe. I hope that you invest the time today to reflect on what lessons you are going to leave in 2014, and what learning you choose to bring with you into 2015.

I had a burning ceremony yesterday for a letter including all the things I want to leave in 2014 (Bye Felicia). To me, there is something so freeing (and final) about watching fire absorb your words. If you've never released through this process, I would strongly recommend it.

Free yourself, dust off those wings and create space for pure and divine love to enter into your life, you deserve it!

Happy fresh new year!

Welcome

Over the course of the last couple of years I have been gathering a collection of my favourite words from a variety of authors, spiritual guides, and fellow bloggers and I wanted to store them all in one place.

It came to me that other people may be interested in some of the findings that bring me daily inspiration and restore my commitment to being a vehicle for love.

It would bring me joy to assist just one person with an awakening.

Thank you for allowing me to share.....
